Labours Of Our Heroes Past Won’t Be In Vain — Lalong Assures Lar Institute Delegation

Former Governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau South, His Excellency Senator Simon Bako Lalong, yesterday received representatives of the Solomon and Mary Lar Leadership Institute in a warm and reflective session.

According to the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee (CPC),Congressman Bimbo Daramola, the meeting, which held at his residence, turned into a moment of endless affectionate recollections about the late elder statesman, Chief Solomon Daushep Lar, fondly called Baba Lar, and his uniquely different approach to politics and leadership that had the people and their welfare as the nucleus.

According to the Institute, from every encounter, everyone who had met Baba Lar in his lifetime had profound personal experiences to share, even under different circumstances and situations, but he left them with memories of the same consistency of values and ideology.

The delegation noted that from Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda to Ambassador Godknows Igali, to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, and now Senator Lalong, a common thread of a better life for all ran through their stories.

Lalong, who served as Governor of Plateau State, concurred that Baba Lar’s leadership style was anchored on people-first principles and selfless service.

The Institute said everyone agrees that there are more than enough compelling reasons to further commend the lives of Baba and Mama Mary Lar to would-be leaders to keep as beacons as the country tries to close the leadership gap.

It added that immortalizing the Lar’s through the Leadership Institute is aimed at ensuring that the labours of our heroes past shall never be in vain.
