Obalodo, Sen Arise Shine At Oye Day 2025 – Donate N5millon each Sola POPOOLA Two illustrious sons of Oye -Ekiti ,the Obalodo of Oye Kingdom, Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo and Senator Ayo Arise added glamour to the annual Oye Day celebrations as they announced the whopping donations of N5millon each for the development of the town. The donations by the duo were significant as it remained the highest so far by any individual or group in the history of the annual festival. The 2025 edition of Oye Day was hosted by the Ilodo Community while Senator Arise was the chairman of the occasion .The Oore of Ogun,Oba Adekunle Adeagbo was the Royal Father of the day. Speaking during 2025 Oye Day celebration and launching of N500 million Community Development Fund , High Chief Oguntoyinbo urged indigenes of the town to embrace peace and shun all negative tendencies like , backstabbing, hatred and malice which could hinder the progress and development of the town. The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Ondo state who is also a daughter of Oye-Ekiti donated N500,000. Also FUOYE management donated a sum of N3.1million and the Royal Father of the celebration, Oore of Otun-Ekiti, donated N500,000 to the development of the community. According to him, Ilodo community was selected to host the 2025 Oye Day celebration by the Organisers and the community embraced the decision wholeheartedly and worked towards its success . Obalodo used the occasion announced the donation of N5millon on behalf of the Ilodo community for the development of Oye kingdom . The High Chief also urged his people to support the administration of the State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji. He charged the security agencies to be security conscious and be proactive in monitoring the nooks and crannies of the town. ” I want to passionately appeal to all sons and daughters of Oye Kingdom to embrace peaceful coexistence. ” There is no gain in conflicting with ourselves, it always retard the development of the community. ” I also want to appeal to all our security agencies to be proactive in helping us to safe guard our communities from invasion by unknown hoodlums,” he said. Obalodo promised to always support the the President of Oye Progressive Union(OPU),Barr. Dare Owolabi and his executive members. I his speech at the occasion , Sen. Ayo Arise, urged the indigenes of the town both home and abroad to contribute to the development of the community. He assured the indigenes of the town that he would continue to promote the development of the town. He also announced a donation of N5 million to the development of the community. ” To further contribute to the development of Oye Kingdom, I will donate a sum of N5 million. I am still going to do more but for now, I am giving what I can afford currently to promote our dear fatherland,” he said. Earlier,the Oloye of Oye-Ekiti, Oba Oluwole Ademolaju has appealed to the indigenes and residents of the town to continue to live in peace. Represented by Eleegbo of Oye-Ekiti, High Chief Vincent Fadugba, said he was unable to attend the ceremony as result of the sudden death of his wife. Oba Ademolaju urged youths of the community not to indulge in crimes and thuggery which could jeopardize their future. He appealed to them to celebrate in a modest manner and drink responsibly. Also speaking ,the President of Oye Progressive Union (OPU) Barr. Dare Owolabi commended the numerous contributions of the sons and daughters of Oye Kingdom. Owolabi thanked Sen. Ayo Arise for bringing the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti(FUOYE ) to the town and also commended Obalodo of Oye Kingdom, Chief Oguntoyinbo for his numerous support for the union.
