Former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) ,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar may have gone spiritual over the myriad of challenges confronting his party and his ambition ahead of the 2023 General Elections.
Recall that the Turaki Adawama has been having a running battle with the runner up in the PDP Presidential primaries and Rivers State governor, Nyesome Wike over the alleged lopsidedness in the constitution of the party’s main position.
Governor Wike had argued that all key positions in the PDP cannot be concentrated in a particular region of the country, hence the need for redress
For instance, the Presidential candidate, national chairman of the party as well as the position of Chairman, board of trustees of the PDP are all currently being occupied by the Northern candidates.
Wike ,who had won the sympathy of other governors had ruled out possibility of truce unless and until the alleged wrongs in the party are addressed.
All meetings held with the aggrieved PDP stakeholders from the southern part of the country in Nigeria and in the diaspora are yet to yield positive results.
The governors of Oyo, Benue , Abia and others are with Wike in this struggle for justice and equity .
