The Amandla Institute convened the 2026 Amandla Parapọ̀, bringing together political leaders, policymakers, scholars, business executives and young Africans for three days of discussions on “Policy and Leadership at a Time of Changing Global Geopolitics.”
The conversations explored Africa’s place in the changing global order, the leadership and policy choices required to navigate emerging challenges, and the importance of intergenerational dialogue and private sector engagement in advancing our continent’s interests.
Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, said the three-day gathering brought together political leaders, policymakers, scholars, business executives and young Africans to deliberate on Africa’s place in the changing global order.
In a post shared after the event, Fayemi disclosed that the conversations explored the leadership and policy choices required to navigate emerging global challenges, as well as the importance of intergenerational dialogue and private sector engagement in advancing the continent’s interests.
Fayemi said: “I was pleased to participate in these important conversations and encouraged by the depth of perspectives shared. The task ahead is to ensure that the ideas and recommendations emerging from the gathering contribute meaningfully to policy and decision-making at national and regional levels.”
According to Fayemi , the Amandla Parapọ̀ is designed as a platform for deep reflection and strategic dialogue on Africa’s future, bringing diverse voices together to shape actionable policy recommendations for national and regional development.
Fayemi, who is a former Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, has remained active in policy and governance conversations across the continent since leaving office.
