Proven Performance and record of quality representation has inspired a massive support for the chieftain of the All progressives Congress (APC) ,Hon Bimbo Daramola( alias congressman )in his quest to return to the National Assembly to represent the good people of Oye/ Ikole Federal Constituency.
There was indeed, an effusive outpouring of love and demonstration of open affection to Daramola as his campaign trail moved to wards and Local Governments in the constituent ,ahead of the primaries of the APC.
In Ikole ,the streets were packed full of supporters and admirers of one of the leading lights in Ekiti politics ,and the convener of the great BAOWALK- Bimbo Daramola.
The show of support, observers said, reflects growing public confidence in the Daramola ’s leadership and performance ability .The tour of Wards started in Ikole after a successful time in Oye Local Government Area,among the areas visited were wards 1, 2 , 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.
Some stakeholders also praised Daramola for maintaining close ties with the grassroots,over 15 years after leaving office and prioritising unity, peace and inclusive development ,while in office .
They urged Daramola to sustain the momentum, if given the opportunity to return to the Green Chamber by continuing to champion policies and programmes that would further improve the living conditions of the people.
Addressing the crowd, Daramola said he was overwhelmed by the show of love and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him if re-elected.
He said :” I re commit myself to love you and show it wherever life’s journey takes me. I will NEVER think too highly of myself. As I always say, i am your Son, brother and friend, anyway. I am a phone call away and you know I love you intensely.
“I cannot wait till tomorrow to express my profound appreciation and deepest gratitude to my Kinsmen and Women in Ikole for the fantastic reception”.
Daramola also used the opportunity to educate residents on the policies and programmes of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji, urging them to turn out en masse in the June election to vote for Governor Oyebanji.
Daramola used the.occasion to call on Oye and Ikole to contribute a significant share of the 500,000 votes targeted by the campaign council, adding that the same effort should be replicated in the presidential election.
While in Oye, Daramola showed appreciation to the leadership of our party and our people in all the wards for their very warm recollections
“Your very affectionate expressions about how I served you from and with all my heart when I had the grace of God and your goodwill to be your representative between [2011-2015]..very humbling recollections..
“The height of it was when our people in Omu Ijelu ward insisted on taking me to the motorised borehole with an overhead tank of 10000 litres that we facilitated during our tenure and still working till this day. Thank you for taking ownership
“It was moments of touching, moving and overwhelming testaments and testimonies all over the wards.
Expressing support for his return bid,some party faithful said their decision to back Daramola was based on his track record when he served eleven years ago. They noted that he had maintained contact with the constituency even after leaving the office.
According to them , “Oye/Ikole deserves more than what we are getting, we need a vibrant representative who can use his connections, goodwill, and experience to attract development to the constituency.”
Party leaders at the event described Daramola as a team player and loyal party man committed to the progress of the area.
They recalled that he was among those who risked a lot to help the party gain power and argued that he deserves the same support in return.
They cited some achievements recorded by Daramola between 2011- 2025 to include ,the 32 bed Hospital he built and handed to Ekiti State Government, the now popular free JAMB Forms for University Admission seekers at a scale no one, not even any government, ever did,
Others achievements acknowledged were :; Scholarship interventions,over sixty Cars to shore-up the social status of recipients, inter and intra-city road improvement, boreholes and street light.
It is on record that Daramola also facilitated an unprecedented empowerment programmes, the feedback sessions of ABOMIRE 1, 2, & 3, relationship and relatable demeanor and identification with the grassroot as part of the reasons they seek his return to the Green Chamber,
His record of performance,according to them, hasn’t been equalled, let alone surpassed, by anyone .
