The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a grassroots mobilization group for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has inaugurated its Ekiti State chapter with a pledge to take the Renewed Hope agenda to every household in the state.
The inauguration, held in Ado-Ekiti also featured the unveiling of 25 branded campaign vehicles to facilitate mobilization across the 16 local government areas and 177 wards of the state.
In his speech ,the Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji
called on leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the January 2027 presidential election, with a target of securing 80 per cent of registered voters’ support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The governor expressed appreciation to the convener and members of the movement for their commitment to the President’s re-election campaign, assuring them that their investment in Ekiti State would be matched by sustained mobilisation efforts.
He urged APC members to work collectively and take the campaign to every community, stressing that victory at the polls would depend largely on direct engagement with voters at the grassroots.
The Governor also warned against voter apathy, particularly among eligible voters who possess Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) but failed to participate in previous elections. He urged campaigners to identify such voters, engage them personally and encourage them to turn out on election day.
Oyebanji further challenged APC stakeholders in the state to demonstrate their appreciation for the support Ekiti had received from the Tinubu administration by mobilising support for the President in the forthcoming election.
He said the Federal Government’s support had contributed to his administration’s development efforts, adding that continued cooperation between the state and federal governments remained important to sustaining ongoing projects and programmes.
The Governor recalled the APC’s performance in the last governorship election, urging party members to sustain their mobilisation efforts and translate their support at the state level into votes for President Tinubu in January 2027.
He maintained that Ekiti should aim for at least 80 per cent of registered voters’ support for the President, describing the target as a challenge to party leaders and members in view of the Federal Government’s support for the state.
“This is a big challenge to us in Ekiti State. If someone from the Niger Delta can put up this structure, and as of today, they have visited 19 states and are still going to visit other states before the end of the campaign, then I challenge all of us here to support the President with our votes in January.
“I have always said that in our 30 years as a state, there has been no President who has been as fair and supportive to Ekiti as President Tinubu.
Representing the Niger Delta leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo. at the rally, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief Kestin Pondi, said the group was committed to mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, insisting that the President deserved another term to consolidate his reform agenda.
Tompolo who spoke while inaugurating the state chapter of the movement, said Tinubu’s economic reforms were already yielding results, citing the ability of state governments to pay salaries and pensions execute development projects.
He said the reforms required time to deliver their full benefits, adding that “no reform can be accomplished in just three and a half years.”
According to him, the movement’s principal believes that Tinubu has demonstrated the courage to take difficult decisions necessary to stabilise the economy and put the country on the path of sustainable growth.
He urged Nigerians to support the President’s re-election bid, arguing that continuity would enable his administration to consolidate the gains of the reforms.
Tompolo challenged opposition politicians seeking elective offices to demonstrate their records in public service, urging voters to assess their achievements against those of the incumbent administration.
He said the movement had been established to mobilise voters across communities, wards and local governments through door-to-door campaigns.
He also ruled out any association with the rainbow coalition arrangement, declaring that the movement’s political allegiance was firmly with the All Progressives Congress (APC), both in Ekiti State and nationally.
“Anytime you see any of my people or members using our materials to campaign for anybody outside the APC, please report them and take the necessary action. I will support you.
“For us, this movement is APC from top to bottom. Our President needs the National Assembly, he needs his governors, and the governors need their state Houses of Assembly. We need all of them on board ,” he said.
The convener warned members against using the movement’s structures and campaign materials to promote candidates outside the APC, urging supporters to work towards an APC victory at all levels.
He said the ultimate objective was to secure widespread support for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 and other APC candidates, to ensure that the party retained strategic political positions needed to advance the administration’s reform agenda.
