Working People United has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027, pledging to mobilise workers and other Nigerians in collaboration with the City Boy Movement to support his second-term ambition.

The FCT Coordinator of Working People United, Musa Istifanus Fadawa, announced the endorsement at a press conference in Abuja on October 20, 2026, saying the decision followed consultations with members across the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and other parts of the country.

Fadawa said the movement, comprising civil servants, teachers, nurses, drivers, artisans, traders, students and private-sector workers, was supporting Tinubu in recognition of his administration’s policies on workers’ welfare, economic reforms and infrastructure development.

He commended the President for engaging organised labour, including the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), and for approving wage awards and a new national minimum wage, describing the administration’s approach to labour relations as evidence of its commitment to workers’ welfare.

The coordinator also announced a strategic partnership with the City Boy Movement, particularly its FCT chapter, to intensify grassroots mobilisation through ward-to-ward, market-to-market and door-to-door campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections.

He commended the FCT Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike, for road construction and rehabilitation across the six area councils, urban renewal, streetlighting, bridges, school renovations and water projects, saying the developments were creating jobs, improving transportation and supporting businesses.

Defending Tinubu’s economic policies, Fadawa described the removal of the petrol subsidy and foreign exchange reforms as difficult but necessary decisions, expressing optimism that sustained implementation would improve economic stability and living conditions.

He also highlighted the administration’s initiatives in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure and youth empowerment, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), as reasons the movement believes Tinubu deserves another term.

According to him, the 2027 election presents an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms, address inflation, strengthen the naira and ensure that the benefits of government policies reach ordinary Nigerians.

As part of its commitments, Working People United pledged to mobilise members across the 36 states and the FCT, encourage eligible Nigerians to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and campaign for Tinubu’s re-election.

Fadawa called on workers, traders, artisans, students and other Nigerians to join the movement, stressing that continuity in governance would provide an opportunity to sustain economic reforms and ongoing development projects.

He reaffirmed the group’s commitment to working with the City Boy Movement to promote Tinubu’s re-election, declaring: “Renewed Hope is Working! Let the Work Continue!”
