NCDC APPOINTMENT : ANOTHER BARE-FACE ROBBERY ATTEMPT OF STATUTORY RIGHTS  OF FCT INDIGENES – FSA 

The FCT Stakeholders Assembly FSA have described the appointment of a non-indigene, Mr Solomon Adodo in the proposed board of North Central Development Commission NCDC as a bare face robbery of statutory rights and privileges of FCT indigenes.
This was made available to the newsmen in a release signed by Assembly’s president, Dr Aliyu Daniel Kwali.
According to him, “Our attention has been drawn to a list of names that is currently before the National Assembly for appointment as Chairman, Executive Directors and members of the North-Central Development Commission and FCT-Abuja was allotted only one seat out of 19 names.”
Kwali, however continued that the proposed occupant of FCT slot, Mr. Solomon Adodo was never an indigene of FCT, but a native of Benue State.
 “This is another attempt to propagate the bare-faced robbery of the statutory rights and privileges of FCT indigenes.”
Therefore If this list is cleared by the National Assembly as submitted, the FCT will have no representation in the North-Central Development Commission, Kwali added
“And it is on this note, we hereby respectfully demand that , in line with the provisions of Part 1, Section 2(2)(a) the North Central Development Commission (Establishment)ACT, 2024, one of the numerous qualified and experienced FCT indigenes should be appointed as Executive Director to fill the seat allotted to the FCT.”, he said
In the list of nineteen names, Benue State was allotted three seats , including the Chairmanship of the Commission, one Executive Director and one member. All three seats were filled by indigenes of Benue State. While Plateau and Kogi States were allotted two seats each, and these seats were rightly filled by indigenes of these States, and Nasarawa, Kwara and Niger States were allotted one seat each, and these seats were filled by indigenes from the respective states.
