– Says Commemiration Inspires Renewed Commitment To Nation-building
A political group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) tagged “Koseleri Team” has congratulated Nigerians and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the commemoration of June 12 as Democracy Day.
A statement by its coordinator, Hon Yekeen Popoola, the group lauded the significance of the date, recognizing it as a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
The group ,an association of former Local Government chairmen who served during the tenure of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, emphasized the importance of upholding the democratic values championed by the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, whose struggle for a free and fair election remains a cornerstone of Nigeria’s democratic ideals.
The group praised President Tinubu’s continued commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring a more inclusive and participatory governance structure.
“June 12 represents a triumph of the people’s will and a testament to the enduring spirit of Nigerians in their pursuit of a just and equitable society,. We commend President Tinubu’s leadership in fostering a climate conducive to democratic growth and development. His commitment to good governance is crucial to consolidating the gains made since the recognition of June 12 as Democracy Day.”
The Koseleri Team also called on all Nigerians to actively participate in the democratic process and uphold the values of peace, unity, and justice.
Koseleri urged citizens to hold their leaders accountable and to continue striving for a better Nigeria for all.
The group further expressed their hope that the commemoration will inspire renewed commitment to nation-building and the pursuit of a prosperous future for the country.
