Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been recognised with a Commonwealth award for the Best Friendly Administrator to the nursing profession in Nigeria.
The recognition, the awarding institution noted, stemmed from the Governor’s strategic investments in healthcare infrastructure, working conditions and the wellbeing of health sector personnel.
Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Federation presented the award to the Governor during its conference in Abuja, with the body praising Sanwo-Olu’s “visionary leadership” in bolstering healthcare delivery in Lagos through the administration’s THEMES+ Agenda.
The nursing body said Lagos had continued to set the pace in healthcare, particularly in attending to the welfare and advancement of nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Chairman of Lagos Council of National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Mrs. Christianah Adeboboye, on Thursday in Alausa, the seat of the State Government, presented the award to the Governor.
