Erelu Bisi Fayemi At 63 : The Woman Who Majors on the Major

The last time I sat with Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi, we found ourselves deep in conversation about international affairs and happenings around the world.

From discussions around the infamous Epstein files to debates on feminism, misogyny, and the social realities shaping conversations in the United States, it was another reminder of something I have always known about her—she has an incredible grasp of important issues and a remarkable depth of knowledge.

If there is anyone I know who uses the internet and global information resources maximally for learning, knowledge acquisition, and staying informed, it is Erelu Bisi. She is always abreast of current realities, always reading, always learning, and always bringing fresh perspectives to conversations.

One thing that never ceases to amaze me is how she seems to know everyone. Every time I introduce a friend or colleague to her, she often responds with, “Oh, I know you.” How she manages to keep up with people, ideas, and developments across different spheres remains a wonder to me.

What I admire most is her ability to focus on what truly matters. She consistently majors on the major and refuses to be distracted by trivialities. Her intellect, wisdom, compassion, and commitment to meaningful causes have made her a force for good and an inspiration to countless people across generations.

I am profoundly grateful for the privilege of knowing her and for the access I have had to a woman whose ideas, example, and influence have transformed lives, including mine.

Today, as she celebrates three score and three years of God’s faithfulness and grace, I pray that her kind will be multiplied. May God continue to strengthen her, prosper the work of her hands, and grant her many more years of impact, fulfillment, and joy.

Happy 63rd Birthday, Your Excellency, Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi.

May your light continue to shine brightly, and may your legacy of service, leadership, and empowerment continue to inspire generations to come.

God bless you, Mama.
