_Sector Commander Charges New Officers to Uphold Discipline , Road Safety Mandate
The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ekiti State Command, has decorated 25 Officers and 79 Other Ranks who were recently promoted within the Corps.
The decoration exercise was conducted in two separate ceremonies held at the Command Headquarters in Ado-Ekiti and at various Unit Commands across the state. The *Sector Commander, Corps Commander Sanya Adeoye, FCIPurS, MCILT*, presided over the decoration of the newly promoted personnel.
Speaking during the event, CC Adeoye expressed gratitude to *God Almighty* and to the *Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni*, for finding the Ekiti Command worthy of the promotions.
He admonished the newly decorated staff to _“live up to expectations”_ in the discharge of their duties, noting that the new ranks come with increased responsibilities. He charged them to uphold the ideals of the founding fathers of the FRSC by _eschewing corruption, maintaining discipline, and ensuring professionalism at all times._
The Sector Commander further urged the personnel to remain committed to the core mandate of the Corps, which is the _reduction of road traffic crashes to the barest minimum_ and the promotion of a lasting road safety culture among Nigerians.
Concluding his address, CC Adeoye stated that _“promotion is from God.”_ He encouraged those who were not promoted in this exercise to remain steadfast and continue giving their best, assuring them that their turn would come at the appropriate time.
The Sector Commander also used the occasion to appeal to the motoring public to obey all road traffic rules and regulations as the Command prepares for the *EMBER months*, a period typically characterized by increased vehicular movement.
He congratulated all the promoted personnel and wished them greater success in their new ranks.
