I DROVE A TAXI IN AMERICA TO PAY MY WAY THROUGH UNIVERSITY- TINUBU SHARES EMOTIONAL GRASS-TO-GRACE STORY

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shared an emotional grass-to-grace story of his days in the United States, revealing how he drove a taxi and worked different menial jobs to sponsor his education.

The President, speaking during his campaign engagements, recalled the struggles he went through to pay his way through university without depending on anyone.

“I drove a taxi in the United States to earn money for my education. I worked different jobs to support myself and pay my way through university.”

Tinubu said his life is a testimony that hard work, determination and resilience can lift anyone from poverty to greatness, no matter their background.

He urged young Nigerians not to give up on their dreams because of present hardship, saying he too once faced the same challenges they are facing today.

According to the President, his experience is why his administration is committed to creating opportunities for young people through education, jobs and empowerment programmes, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

“I know what it means to struggle to pay school fees. That is why no Nigerian child should drop out of school because of money.”

The crowd, visibly moved by the story, cheered as the President assured them that his government will continue to work to make life better for ordinary Nigerians.
