Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP),Hon(Dr) Hellen Taiwo-Adebakin has congratulated Barrister Bayo Lawal on his appointment as the new deputy governor of Oyo State.
Adebakin in a statement described the choice of Lawal by governor Seyi Makinde as a well thought out decision.
She described the new Deputy governor as a loyal and committed member of the PDP stressing his appointment would go a long way in boosting image of the party particularly in the northern party of Oyo State (Oke Ogun).
” The positive reactions which greeted your appointment as the new Deputy Governor clearly shown that our governor Seyi Makinde had made the right choice. Your appointment is based on your track records of excellence with as lawyer, politician and public officer. I pray that your joining the cabinet shall be an added advantage to the PDP administration in Oyo State and makes the task of the governor’s second bid struggle easy. I am using this medium to congratulate our leader, father and mentor ” the statement reads in part.
The appointment of Adebayo Lawal as the new Deputy Governor followed the removal of the former occupant of the position Rauf Olaniyan.
Before his appointment, Lawal was the Chairman of the State Housing Corporation. He had also served as the state Attorney-General.
