Chieftain of All Progressives Congress(APC ) in Oyo State, Hon Yekeen Popoola has described the late former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi as a strong pillar and rallying point whose exit created huge vacuum in the party.

Hon Popoola, former chairman of the Association of Local Government Administration (ALGON) extolled the virtues of his late principal at the third anniversary of Ajimobi’s death.
Popoola who spoke with journalists on the sideline of the event to mark the demise of the former governor.
He described him as a missing link that unites the progressive family in Oyo State.
According to Popoola, the gap that his death had created among the progressive family has never been filled and this is evident in the reason why Oyo APC still remains in opposition because he left at the time when he was most needed.
“His demise leaves a heartache that no one can heal. Our hearts still ache in sadness, for what it meant to loose him at that precious time.”
He said late Ajimobi was just a father whose worth can never be told. There is a place which he occupied in the family of Oyo APC that no one can fill. We definitely miss him and always will continue to miss him, because I do not see how are we going to really get over the loss than for us to learn to live with his absence otherwise all efforts to unite progressive family would continue to be in vain.
“Ajimobi was a man like no other, if boldness, intelligence and exposure had a form in human then it was him, he was an icon worthy of emulation, a true definition of a democrat. He was an hero, a strong support system, a hardworking and strong individual who was always there for who ever comes across him.
” He was selfless, he lived for others always willing to help, he was highly principled and stood firm for what he believed was in the general interest of everyone. He was a team maker and player, Popoola remarked
