A section of the office of the Chief Judge of Ekiti State collapsed on Thursday injuring the occupant ,Justice John Adeyeye.
It was learnt Justice Adeyeye had arrived the office when the incident occurred thereby halting court proceedings.
Though, no life was lost in the incident which occurred at about 12:30pm on the fateful day resulted into pandimonum as the Chief Judge of the State, Justice John Adeyeye, sustained serious injury and was rushed to a private health facility in the State.
An eyewitness account, the Chief Judge had on the fateful day arrived in the office and attending to guests and other litigants when the unfortunate incident occured.
The incident which caused palpable tension and apprehension around the premises of the court located at Fajuyi area of the State capital.
The affected parts of the office of the CJ was also noticed, workers in the court under aegis of Judiciary Service Union (JUSUN) were noticed standing in groups discussing the development in hush voices
Similarly, some Lawyers who had their adjournment day was noticed turning back immediately they were informed of the development.
Litigants who had earlier arrived at the court were noticed standing in groups around the court promises discussing the development.
One of the Personal Aides of the Chief Judge who also spoke on the incident, said the CJ was seriously injured during the incident, but he is currently in a stable condition and responding to treatment.
” Let me say everyone is wondered what could have led to such terrible situation, the CJ was seriously injured, bit was immediately rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention”
“However, it was gathered that no life was lost in the accident, while the CJ was badly wounded during the incident. He was thereafter rushed and admitted at a private hospital in Ado-Ekiti, where he is currently responding to treatment” he stated.
