The Ekiti State Executive Council has approved over N10.78 billion for critical projects cutting across healthcare, road infrastructure, aviation, water supply and public safety.
The approvals were made at the Seventh Meeting (2026) of the Council held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Executive Council Chamber, New Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti.
According to the Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, the decisions reflect the Oyebanji administration’s commitment to strengthening governance, improving institutional capacity and advancing sustainable socio-economic development.
*Highlights of the approvals are:*
*1. N448.07m for Ministry of Special Duties and Presidential Lodge*
The Council approved N448,074,075.00 for office equipment for the Ministry of Special Duties and replacement of worn-out furniture at the Presidential Lodge and its Extension. Contract awarded to D and T Furniture via direct procurement, to be delivered in 4 weeks.
*2. N6.76bn for three General Hospitals*
A total of N6,765,887,612.22 was approved for construction of new hospital buildings at General Hospitals in Ikogosi-Ekiti, Awo-Ekiti and Ipao-Ekiti at N2.25bn each. The facilities will include male/female wards, theatre, maternity, children’s ward, laboratory, mortuary and staff quarters.

– Ipao – Messrs. Red Soil Ltd
Duration: 10 months.
*3. N1.09bn for Ado-Ekiti urban roads*
N1,093,694,524.13 approved for construction of 400m Olajiga Street, Egbewa and 915m GRA 3rd Extension (Ifesowapo–Ibi Oluwatoba–Ori Apata Roads) in Ado-Ekiti. Contract awarded to Rudy Construction Nig. Ltd. Duration: 12 months.
*4. N340.6m for Cargo Airport Access Road*
N340,612,472.69 approved for construction of 1km access road from Runway 21 threshold to the CVOR Navigation Aid Site at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport. The all-weather road will facilitate NCAA operational approval. Contract to CCECC Nigeria Ltd. Duration: 3 months.
*5. N155.35m for Streetlights*
N155,350,466.40 approved for Phase II of Afao-Ekiti Streetlight Project and solar-powered streetlights within Government House, Ado-Ekiti. Project to be executed by Ekiti State Electricity Board via direct labour. Duration: 3 months.
*6. N296.2m for solar water pumps*
N296,217,500.00 approved for bulk purchase of 104 Grundfos solar-powered water pumps from Jovak Nigeria Ltd for rehabilitation of boreholes under World Bank-supported SURWASH Programme. Delivery: 4 weeks.
*7. N1.68bn for rehabilitation of 104 boreholes*
N1,681,198,360.20 approved for upgrading and rehabilitation of 104 high-yielding boreholes to reticulated solar-powered facilities across LGAs and LCDAs under SURWASH. 52 contractors emerged from 167 bids. Duration: 4 weeks.
The Council said the approvals underscore its focus on timely delivery, value for money and sustainable infrastructure that directly impacts the lives of Ekiti people.
