Hundreds of people from 10 communities in Ikole Local Government areas of Ekiti State benefitted from food items and cash gifts donated by the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and former Senatorial aspirant, Chief Segun Ajibulu.
The ceremony held at Ipao-Ekiti ,the country home of the donor is graced by some top politicians, traditional rulers as well leaders of religion groups .
The foundation had hosted Medical Outreach ,Chistmas Party for the Children, in addition to the Get-together nightparty for the youths in the community on the December 24,2023.
Speaking at the occasion ,the pro-democracy activist and ally of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said the intervention became imperative in spirit of yuletide and to also cushion the biting impact of the current economic hardships. Among the beneficiaries were widows, elderly and people with disabilities.
Chief Ajibulu disclosed that he instituted Schorlaships and Empowerment programmes some years ago, in honour of his late father under Segun Ajibulu Foundation .
According to him, several individuals and schools have benefitted from the activities of the foundation.
Among the traditional rulers who graced the event were ,the Olu of Itapaji ,Oba Abdulkareem Abdulazeez, the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti ,Oba David Ogunsakin .
The monarchs who appreciated the donor also gave gratitude to God for given them a worthy son like Chief Ajibulu.” Chief Ajibulu has been stern caeecof the needy and aged for years and we are proud of him “.the monarchs said .
The chairman of Ajoni LCDA ,Prince Michael Ogungbemi also lauded the initiative of Chief Ajibulu urging other well to do members of the society to emulate the good gestures.
In her remarks ,the Wife of Ekiti governor ,Dr Yemi Oyebanji described Chief Ajibulu as an honest philanthropist who truly love his people, particularly, the downtrodden.
Represented by the Special Adviser to the governor on Education and social Inclusion, Adetoun Agboola ,the First Lady said ” This is what the people to ve doing ,giving food items and cash gifts to the needy in about 10 communities. This is commendable “
Among the dignitaries were the President, Christian’s Association of Nigeria(CAN) ,Ekiti State,Pastor Aribasoye, president of Ekiti Association Houston USA,Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly ,represented by his Chief of staff and incoming chairmen of Ikole , Ajoni and Ikole west LCDA
Recall that Ajibulu recently donated set of computers to Ekiti State Government According to him the items were meant to promote the activities of governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in Ekiti .He said the intervention was his own little way of appreciating the good work of the governor since assumption of office .
