Ekiti North Senatorial District: Arise Picks Nomination, Expression of Interest Forms

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Ayo Arise, has obtained both the APC nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the party primary election.of the Ekiti North Senatorial seat slated for May 22, 2026.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after picking the forms in Abuja, Sen. Arise expressed confidence of victory at the polls

Senator Arise, former Senate Committee Chairman on Privatisation who had visited all 56 wards in Ekiti North Senatorial District to inform APC leaders and supporters across the district, promised to consolidate his performance as a Senator in the area between 2007 and 2011.

The aspirant, who had also set up about 7,000 canvassers to mobilise other APC members to actualise his ambition, said his aspiration was born out of selfless service to alleviate the sufferings of the people.

“God has really blessed me beyond human comprehension. I am not hungry. I am contesting again to further develop the people and society. I want to tell our people once again that there are opportunities to assist them as a representative.

“Many people are contesting to chase money and fame. But, as far as I am concerned, God has been really good to me by placing me above that category. Therefore, I will continue to be grateful to Him by using my position to serve the people and society,” he said.

Sen. Arise commended all APC leaders and supporters in the state for their support and trust in him, saying the overwhelming receptions received across the district during his recent tour were a signal that people value competence, hard work, performance, and humility above sentimental politics, laziness, or parochial and unpopular agendas aimed at continuing to enslave the masses.

“Our agenda is clear, unambiguous, and unparalleled. It is now time to create wealth, employment, and ensure the well-being of the people. In my first term at the Senate, I used my position as a Senator to lobby appropriate quarters for the establishment of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, FUOYE. I also built and renovated health centres, libraries, and provided power and water in communities across Ekiti North Senatorial District, apart from matchless and second-to-none empowerment programmes to alleviate the sufferings of the people.

“The experience, zeal, and determination to further work for the people is still there and remains uncompromising. Therefore, it is high time Ekiti people sent the best hands, especially in Ekiti North Senatorial District, to complement the efforts of Gov. Biodun Oyebanji to develop the state.

“Our Governor is fast-tracking development across the state, no doubt. Hence the need for competent hands at the National Assembly to support him in order to make the work easier and more noticeable,” he added.

The Oye-Ekiti born politician called on all APC members to remain committed, focused, and always work for the success of the party, especially during the forthcoming governorship election and 2027 general elections.

He, however, assured them that the era of working without commensurate compensation is gone.
