EKSEPA  Hails Oyebanji Over Dredging Of Wateways In Ekiti 

The Chairman of the Ekiti State Environmental Protection Agency(EKSEPA) Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo has commended governor Biodun Oyebanji for giving approval for the dredging  of waterways across the towns and communities in the state.

Speaking at Ido-Ekiti during the inspection of the ongoing dredging site  at the Alapo igo lane 5, Oguntoyinbo who is the Obalodo of Oye-Ekiti  said  he was delighted with the level of job done .
He explained that the  total distance to be covered for  dredging ,” as approved  by the governor is 3km instead of 2km. As at the end of today, we should have covered 1200m, all things being equal.
Oguntoyinbo said the approval of the  dredging of waterways cannot come  at a better time than when the state is moving into raining season adding that all thr jobs are through direct labour .
Recall that EKSEPA board members led by their chairman had visited  dredging of  waterways between Ijemu and Inisa streets in Otun-Ekiti .

” I and my board members are very happy with the level of job done by the contractor assigned to dredge the water ways between Ijemu and Inisa streets in Otun-Ekiti.

” I want to commend the General Manager of EKSEPA, Mr Olukayode Adunmo for ensuring that a good job is being done .

” I want to warn residents of Ekiti  to desist from dumping refuse in the waterways that is currently undergoing dredging”,  he said.

The General Manager of EKSEPA, Mr Olukayode Adunmo, said the objective of the project was to ensure that in Ekiti state metropolis all the towns and villages are not flooded.

Adunmo said the dredging of the waterways of Ijemu and Inisa streets was given priority to ensure that residents and Indigenes living in the area are not affected by flood during the rainy season.

” I invited the chairman and board members to the dredging site to see what the agency are currently doing to avert flooding in Otun-Ekiti.

” The objectives of the project was to ensure that no lives or properties are lost to flooding in the rainy season.
