President Muhammadu Buhari has handed down a two weeks ultimatum to the Minister of Education ,Mallam Adamu Adamu to end the academic impasse.
Buhari had expressed concern about the protracted strike recently when he urged the Academic Staff of University (ASUU) not to jeopardize the future of next generation with their stance on their demands.
ASUU started its strike on February 14, 2022, and JAC commenced its own on April 14, 2022. The unions embarked on industrial actions while demanding improved welfare packages, better working conditions, and the implementation of various labour agreements signed with the Federal Government between 2009 and 2020.19 May 2022.
