The former chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria, Oyo state, Hon Yekeen Popoola has condoled with the family, friends and political associates of former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Ganiyu Ayesoro who passed away yesterday.
A statement by Hon Popoola said that “with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that I announce the untimely passing of Hon. Ganiyu Ayesoro, former representative of Irepo/Olorunsogo State Constituency from 2011 to 2015. Hon. Ayesoro, a dedicated public servant, loyal political ally, and above all, a cherished godson.
Ayesoro’s career was a testament to his tireless dedication to the people of Oyo State. His time in the House of Assembly was marked by his unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents, making a lasting impact with numerous initiatives that addressed their core needs. He was not only a lawmaker but also an advocate for youth empowerment and rural development.
As his political mentor, I had the privilege of watching Hon. Ayesoro rise through the ranks, guided by the same passion and integrity that defined his service.
His death is a personal loss to me, both as a leader in Oyo State and as someone who had the honor of being his political godfather. His absence will be deeply felt, not only within the political sphere but also by the countless individuals whose lives he touched through his advocacy and public service.
The entire political family and the people of Irepo/Olorunsogo will forever remember Hon. Ayesoro for his resilience, leadership, and commitment to the greater good. He was more than a colleague—he was a friend, a confidant, and a valuable ally who brought warmth, wisdom, and strength to every conversation.
We have lost a true patriot, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family, loved ones, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in peace.
