The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC Ekiti Sector Command*, has urged drivers and other road users road here strictly to traffic rules and regulations or face the full weight of the law*.
This is coming as the command announced a 2-day Special Patrol Enforcement* across the state aimed at reducing road traffic crashes and enforcing critical traffic laws.
The operation, code-named *“OPERATION EMI OLAARO”* meaning _“LIFE HAS NO DUPLICATE”_, will hold between *14th and 15th September, 2026*.
Speaking during a media briefing with stakeholders and personnel, the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Sanya Adeoye, FCIPurS, MCILT*, said the exercise is in line with the Corps’ vision of creating a safe motoring environment towards achieving zero road traffic crashes.
CC Adeoye noted that the enforcement will focus on mitigating crash-induced offences such as *speeding, dangerous driving, overloading of vehicles, and route violations* which have contributed to fatalities on Ekiti roads.
“This operation is our proactive enforcement strategy to address the rising prevalence of traffic infractions leading to deaths on our roads,” he said.
The Sector Commander outlined four key components of the special patrol:
1. *Patrol enforcement* on major highways and intra-city routes
2. *Aggressive public enlightenment* for drivers and passengers
3. *Mobile court sessions* for traffic offenders
4. *Stakeholders’ engagement* with transport unions and community leaders
He called on the motoring public to cooperate with FRSC personnel throughout the exercise to ensure its success.
