How Community’s Petition Halted Ekiti Commissioner Nominee’s Inauguration

Facts emerged as to the sudden disappearance of Rt.Hon Oladapo  Karounwi’s name  from the list of commissioners inaugurated by governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on Tuesday .
The APC chieftain and former Zonal Publicity Secretary of the party is  believed to be one of the  allies  of the governor and member of G-5 whose name was said to be in the priority list ,but recent turn  of events have changed the political dynamics.
Karounwi, a former Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly had been screened and cheered by the assembly only for his name to missing  in the list on the inauguration.
It was learnt that the embattled Commissioner nominee’s problem was not unconnected with the crisis in his country home,Efon Alaaye few days ago where some elders and party leaders were attacked.
Karounwi was said to have been at the centre of the crisis as his community sent a strongly worded petition to the governor urging him to drop the nominee.
Sources at the government circle said Governor Oyebanji was first reluctant to drop Karounwi but the allegations against him by his people were weighty and could not be ignored particularly by a Governor who loves to promote discipline and obey party principles.
Efforts to get Karounwi’s reaction proved  abortive as he was not picking his calls
