International Disabilities Day : PDP Chieftain Hails Atiku For Floating   PWDs Campaign Council

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP),Hon(Dr) Hellen Taiwo-Adebakin has commended former Vice President and party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar  for showing genuine concern to the plight of the People Living With Disabilities (PWDs).
Dr Taiwo-Adebakin in her goodwill message to mark the International Disabilities Day 2022 said the decision of PDP flageaer to float a Campaign Council for the PWDs  was symbolic and  laudable.
Adebakin,  a member of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council said the effort would a long way in giving the PWDs sense of belonging and assurance that the party would prioritise their demands if given the mandate in the 2023 elections.
” I want to use this occasion to celebrate People Living With Disabilities on the occasion of the International Disabilities Day.I equally want to appreciate the concern and honest recognition of the PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the PWDs by setting up a Campaign Council for them.This effort is symbolic and would ginger others to do same .
“I want advocate the employment and deployment of more sign  language teachers into school and Tevelisions stations across the country. More importantly, the implementation of the Disability discrimination laws across the  states ” Adebakin advocated.
She therefore called on government at all levels to give more space to the PWDs by appointing them into sensitive positions.
