Former Nigerian President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has congratulated the President of Guinea-Bissau and new Chair of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government ,Excellency Sissoco Embaló.
Dr Jonathan also felicitated with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,President of Ghana for his remarkable run as the immediate past Chair
The former Nigerian leader commended the Ghanian Presudent for his efforts towards resolving the socio-political crises in the sub-region.
In his message, Jonathan said ” I also congratulate His Excellency Sissoco Embaló, President of Guinea-Bissau who has just taken charge as the new Chair of the Authority and wish him success during his tenure.
” In the same vein, I congratulate the outgoing President of ECOWAS Commission Mr. Jean-Claude Kassi Brou, who worked closely with me in my capacity as ECOWAS mediator in Mali, for the steps he took towards advancing the collective cause of the people of the sub-region.
“I welcome the new President of the Commission, Mr. Omar Alieu Touray, with great hope and optimism.
“Your Excellencies, I extend my warm greetings and felicitations and wish all of you great wisdom and strength as you continue to work for the good of your respective countries and the entire sub-region.” Jonathan said
