Just in : Ojuelegba Trailer Tragedy Claims Eight Lives -Lagos Govt.

More facts emerged from  the tragedy at the popular Ojuelegba today,as the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu said eight persons were killed.
Further investigations revealed that the bus was picking up passengers when the truck lost control and fell over the side of the bridge.
After suspending the container load with the aid of the Agency’s forklift and cutting off the top of the bus with light rescue equipment, a single adult woman was extricated alive and taken to the trauma centre.
A total of 8 fatalities were recovered comprising of 3 adult males, 3 adult females, a girl child and a boy child.
This was contained in a press release published on Sunday by the agency.
An eyewitness said the truck driver wanted to block the bus from overtaking him.
It was gathered that only one out of nine passengers involved was rescued alive.
According to the press release, the accident claimed eight lives and effort is currently being made towards rescue and evacuation.
The press release read: “SITUATION REPORT ON TRUCK ACCIDENT AT OJUELEGBA BRIDGE OPPOSITE FEDERAL FIRE STATION
Upon arrival at the scene, a truck conveying a 20ft container was found to have landed on top of a commercial bus.
The Agency’s heavy duty Goliath and teams from Onipan and Cappa are on ground. The Agency’s Ambulance, LASG FIRE, FED FIRE, LASTMA and Nigeria Police have been working on this situation.
