A 35-year-old man, Kalu Uchendu, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s 15-year-old girl by covering her mouth and using a knife to subdue her.
The incident occurred on August 26, 2025, at approximately 2200 hours, at Prince Rabiu Adio Street, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim into his apartment, forcefully closed her mouth, and used a knife to threaten her. She became afraid and allowed him to proceed out of fear for her life.
Having satisfied himself, he allowed her to leave and warned her not to disclose the incident, threatening to retaliate if she revealed what had transpired between them.
However, the victim reported the incident to her parents, and the matter was reported to the Police in the area. The suspect was subsequently arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for interrogation regarding his alleged conduct against the victim.
Following a thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offense, which carries a penalty of several years’ imprisonment.
