An indigenous group christened, Abuja Original Inhabitants Youth Empowerment Organization ( AOIYEO.l has clarified that the creation of the offices for the youth matters and community development in the nation’s Federal Capital Abuja ,was its brain child .
The President of the Organisation, Commandant Isaac David,in a statement made available to newsmen said the clarification became imperative inorder to set the record straight and douse the tension on claims and counter claims on the matter .
Commandant David,who is the immediate past special assistant on youth matters to former FCT Minister argued that the organisation have valid documents to back up it claim.
According to him the idea was initiated when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) federal government led administration was about winding up
“As progressive minded people who have been always inspired by public service that have developed a better understanding of the complexities of governance for long time, we in AOIYEO felt that creation of these offices were long overdue, given the population of the FCT youth and the spread of different communities of city.
“This has always been our case as we had fought tirelessly in various ramifications when we did appeal, advocate which eventually culminated in written letters to the FCT Minister in 2015 to establish the office of special assistants on youth matters and community relations.”
” Interestingly, it was part of the handover documents that was presented to the new government. In the consciousness of continuity in Governance, the new government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari and my boss, former minister of FCT Bello Mohammed and my sweet mother Hon minister of state FCT Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu formally recognized this and established this two positions and apparently appointed two FCT original inhabitants in person of former Bwari area council chairman, Hon Isah Dara and my humble self via letter with Ref: HM/FCT/SSA ADMIN/MO/477/10 duly signed by Jamila Ibrahim for Hon minister.
“Today, we are proud to be the brain behind this because worthy to note is the undying and relentless spirit of ours who ensured that this dream was finally achieved from 2017 till date, Isaac remarked
“We actually believe that the origin of all things beautiful begins with a compelling vision and a deep-rooted passion for public service. It often starts with an individual who feels a strong calling to make a positive impact on their community, city, or even the entire country. This individual may have witnessed societal challenges, felt a desire for change, or has been inspired by influential leaders who have made a difference in their own lives, former aide reiterated.
“And to the glory of God, with this vision in mind, this establishment has made indigenous people approaching the Minister at will to table their feelings, as these appointees really accessible through adoption of open door policy and it has also made intercommunal relations in the FCT more practical and relatable” David said .
