Pentagon Under Fire Over Undisclosed $3.3bn Aircraft Loss
The United States has reportedly lost or damaged 81 military aircraft, with estimated losses valued at up to $3.3 BILLION.
Among the aircraft affected are more than 40 MQ-9 Reaper drones, an F-35 fighter jet, and an E-3 Sentry surveillance aircraft, among others.
And that’s only the aircraft.
The war has already cost the U.S. at least $45 BILLION, reportedly excluding damage to American military bases across the Middle East.
Now, members of Congress are questioning whether the Pentagon has fully disclosed the extent of the losses, while warning that some of America’s most advanced aircraft are aging, in limited supply, and extremely difficult to replace.
This war is costing the United States far more than money.
It is also costing military readiness — and that could become a serious problem the next time America needs to fight another major war.
