Popular Nigerian female singer ,Simisola Bolatito Adeola Opeyemi Oreoluwa Ogunleye Kosoko ;(better known as Simi) has hit a record 100million streams on Boomplay,thus becoming the first female artiste to attain such feat.
Tosin Sorinola, its director of artiste and media relations, said the platform is marking Simi’s new achievement as part of its commitment to ensure inclusion and representation in music.
“As an organisation, we will continue to recognise and celebrate the strides made by female artists globally,” the executive said.
Simi had earlier set record as the first African female artiste to reach 100 million streams on Audiomack.
The singer, 34, broke into the mainstream with her single ‘Tiff’ in 2014.
She has since established herself as a top songwriter and singer.
Her 2017 eponymous album ‘Simisola’ won the ‘Album of the Year’ at The Headies.
Simi served as a judge in the 7th season of Nigerian idol, 2022.
