The Ekiti State Council of Islamic Affairs has congratulated governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji(BAO) overvthe successes recorded by his party in the Presidential and National Assembly elections in the stste state.
In a letter addressed to the governor by the council’s secretary ,Alhaji Muraina Jegede said the outcome of the poll was a referendum on the administration of Oyebanji.
The Muslim body maintained that the well deserved victory had made the state a pacesetter among the comity of states that delivered massive votes for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The entire Muslim Community of Ekiti State, under the aegies of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Ekiti State chapter; hereby felicitate you on the resounding victory that characterize the outcome of February 25th 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections in Ekiti State.
“Ekiti State Council of Islamic Affairs noted with joy and satisfaction the massive and overwhelming votes delivered for your party’s Presidential flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all the National Assembly candidates from Ekiti State.
” It is our firm conviction that the wide gap between the votes casted for your political party and that of other political parties was an indication of your general and massive acceptability as Governor by the people of Ekiti State who are daily celebrating your genuineness, frankness, sincerity, industry and fairness.
“Our conviction in this regard is in consonance with the words of Allah in Quran 30:5 which stated thus: “In the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the exalted in might, the merciful
” We are convinced that the outcome of the Presidential polls in Ekiti State, which has made the state a pacesetter among the comity of states that delivered massive votes for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was well made by God.
“Your Excellency, in as much as we are convinced that victory is of Allah and that He gives to whomever He wills; the Ekiti State chapter of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs have resolved to make supplications to Allah to grant all the House of Assembly contestants from your political party (APC) victory in the forthcoming elections on the 11th March 2023.
” As people of faith, we have also resolved to walk our talk by casting our votes overwhelmingly for the APC House of Assembly aspirants. In this way, we are convinced, the task of governing our dear Ekiti State and taking it to the Eldorado will be made easy.
“With the assurances of the warm regards of the President and members of the Council.” the statement said .
