– Urges opposition to join renewed hope crusade
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC),Hon Yekeen POPOOLA has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR on his victory at supreme court affirming his victory in the last Presidential poll.
Popoola,former Chairman, Association of Local Governments Administration of Nigeria (ALGON) the apex court verdict had laid to rest, the legal tussle over the presidential election of february 25, 2023.
Describing the verdict as watershed in the history of election in the countrg, the APC chieftain” Asiwaju’s victory would continue to be a yardstick for every election in Nigeria for a very long time because if not the kind of personality of the president Tinubu, I have never seen a Nigerian death or alive who will survive without a scar, the level of high- spirited mischievous, propaganda and innuendos that characterized the election from where it began and to where it ended. In fact, this has made Asiwaju to be described as a man from another planet”.
He further stressed that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed will forever remain the only man who strategically survives every known and unknown obstacles put on his way to Aso rock by his opponents, more interesting was the dexterities employed to surmount it all despite unrepentant efforts of his distractors.
“On this, I congratulate him and wish him a very sound health and wellness to pilot the affairs of this nation to promise land,” Popoola said.
The intrigues that were introduced before, during and most especially after the election was also second to none in the country’s long history, because despite the fact that it was clear to all and sundry, that the Alhaji Abubakar Atiku and Peter Obi of the PDP and the LP respectively were only chasing shadows as there was no any reason to contest the results of such a free, fair and transparent election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC through strict compliance and adherence to all the laws of the election but relying on the ignorance of majority to lay claim to what was not tenable in the presence of the laws of the land.
Popoola also commended the supreme court judges whom despite the bullies, intimidations and threats refused to be guided by mere emotions and others to stand firmly to protect the sanctity of judiciary through rare courage to outrightly throw out the appeals against the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal which had earlier validated the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu which signalled the end of all issues tossed up by the 2023 presidential election.
Popoola therefore called every Nigerians to support the Tinubu’s presidency for agenda of Renewed Hope to be quickly delivered. “It is now high time for all Nigerians to ditch politics and support the government in order to allow the president and his team to Renewed Hope agenda as earlier as planned.”
