My Dear Good People of Niger State.
I write you this memo today with profound respect and regard.
Three and a half years ago when I joined you to campaign for your son, who started out as my friend at the 7th House of Representatives between [2011-2015], and gradually we built trust and became friends and today are brothers from different mothers, I campaigned not out of sentiments but verifiable facts.
I themed my aggresive solo campaign around #BAGOHASBIGDREAMS for you Nigerlites.
Today i am happy that some of those dreams have become realities, and many others on their way to fruition.
I was looking through my campaign diary a couple of days ago, and I saw the nuggets that i took down from the interview the then candidate Umaru Mohammed Bago granted Channels Television #Seun #Okinbaloye, and I am happy to say i took the bet on a good, determined and fit horse , the results today have showed that.
I speak to you my very warm people of Niger State, from Bida to Kainji, about a man who is very true to his words, a conscionable man, so well versed and vast across many areas talking about knowledge and inspite of this gift still and ever willing to listen before taking informed decisions.
In moments when self evident and the right things are not been done, delayed or deliberate clogs are being put in the ways of collective good, that is when you see the otherside of you Son.
Otherwise, I can say without fear or favour, that not too many people are as humble and humane in the face of humongous powers that Governors wield today like your son and Governor.
I speak to what I know, observed and felt.
In the period that I have known and related with you Son and Governor, please take my words for it, and fact check me if you will, today’s Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago has remained true to his identity just as he was about nearly two decades ago when we met.
A man of absolute and profound fate in God, i recall we were airborne sometime on a private plane as we criss crossed in the pursuit of his determination to serve as No.4 man in Nigeria, he would still mange to step aside to observe his prayers or do so as soon as we touch down.
A man who respects the elderly and the privileged just as he deeply has regard for those considered as weak and underprivileged.
This has been a consistent reality in his life and the reason why care for all is his deepest desire and wish.
My dear Nigerlites, a man who is consistent with his nature and identity in or outside of power, is man of integrity and character, this is the hallmark of leadership, please permit me to therefore submit that this is at the heart of the leadership you should sustain.
Citizen Bago is unfazed by power and means, and this should be a source of great respite for the future that you deserve going forward, when he gives you his words he keeps it, unfazed by circumstances or situations.
I am happy to remind you that when the good people of Chachannga Federal Constituency elected him three times to the House of Representatives, they were not misinformed rather guided by the purposeful and responsive representation that the then Hon Umaru Mohammed Bago gave.
When you also overwhelmingly elected him three years plus ago, it was not a shot in the dark, you had reasonable basis and conviction backed justification to so do.
We are here today, at the cusp of another epochal decision making moment, first to thank you for accepting the product we marketed to you three years ago, which you accepted from aspirant to becoming candidate and ultimately getting elected as Governor.
This time you not only have seen your son serve you as a member of the House of Representatives, but you have also seen him given his fullest attention, energy and efforts to serve you as Governor with proofs and trail of tangible impact across sectors, from road infrastructure through education to healthcare etc of course with effusive dose of welfarism.
Looking at these BAGO years with pride as his friend from across the Niger, i cannot but say that i am delighted that your son and Governor has discharged the burden that is inherent in leadership yet again, such as we have seen from one constituency, now spread over the entire beautiful State of yours.
I therefore want to join millions of Nigerlites who have come to see and agree with the big dreams translated to reality to ask that we re-commit our informed conviction to ensure that we return farmer Governor Mohammed Umar Bago back to office next year.
May I respectfully submit to you that you have a national product in your hands, loved and well received and reckoned with across this country, one who is not limited by religion sentiments or cultural influences, detribalised, a dye in wool patriot and a Nationalist, I am sure insha Allah has a place reserved for more and higher service. Time will tell.
As we campaigned on miniscule records comparatively from the House of Representatives last three years, now we are confident to add the major landmark accomplishments of Governor Bago over the last three years.
We have no doubts that the BIGGER DREAMS realised are reassurances of and for a more prosperous Niger State.
Your vote and support are the pathways and keys to further unlock these GREATS DREAMS AND VISION as been driven by the farmer Governor.
You will be proud of your State among other States when you look at what has been achieved by your son and Governor.
The great future beckons.
