The Africa Continental Coordinator of the United Nations Federation of International Alternative, Scientific Tradomedical and Religion Organizations (UNFIA) in Nigeria, Prof. Olumuyiwa Babalola has urged members of the National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP) and others to always comply with the established policy of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) under the Federal Ministry of Health in Nigeria.
Speaking at a programme supported by NAFDAC at Arewa House in Kaduna, Babalola also highlighted the global importance of integrating traditional medicine into modern health system, adding that partnership is key to achieving credibility and acceptance.
The conference also highlighted the roles of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in ensuring quality herbal medicine and explore strategies for incubating herbal medicine.
The National President of National Association Of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP), Dr Shaba Maikudi assured that every remedies of the herbal products are safe and efficient.
The NAFDAC Rep, Northwest Zonal Director, Shamsudeen Mani said the agency has put every measure in place to control the herbal products.
“NAFDAC has put in place measures to facilitate and control the herbal medicine products.” He said
