2026 : Ekiti ADC Guber  To Float N20,000 Monthly Stipends For Unemployed Citizens 

As  new opposition  platform,  African Democratic Congress (ADC) has registered its presence in Ekiti State as Otunba Olumuyiwa Babalola declared to run for governorship with a promise  to implement  N20,000 monthly stipend for unemployed citizens.
In the last few weeks ,many chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP  defected to the ADC  the party which positions itself as the third force ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial pol.
Addressing journalists, Otunba Babalola  said he joined the race to further advance the course of Ekiti South Senatorial District  which he said ,had been grossly marginalised since the creation of Ekiti in 1996.
The ADC Governorship aspirant argued that his political aspiration was to ensure  fair representation  and correct the imbalance.
Otunba Babalola  a,ambition akened to  the growing demand for political balancing in Ekiti State.
Part his manifesto is to initiate and implement  a N20,000 monthly stipend for unemployed citizens, regardless of educational status
“Since the return to democratic rule in 1999, the southern region of Ekiti has not produced a state governor, a reality Babalola labeled “a democratic imbalance that must be corrected.”

“I have served across borders, but my heart has never left Ekiti. Our people deserve more than promises. We deserve progress that speaks in roads, jobs, education, and dignity. If I emerge as the ADC candidate, I will defeat Governor Oyebanji at the polls,”

Among the most audacious of his proposals is a N20,000 monthly stipend for unemployed citizens, regardless of educational status. He emphasized that the initiative is not a handout but a launchpad to empower families, reduce crime, and restore economic dignity. The South Agenda is long overdue, and with our people behind us, we will make history together.”

Positioning himself as the bridge between global opportunity and local transformation, Otunba Babalola pledged to leverage his vast international connections to attract investment, jobs, and lasting infrastructure to Ekiti.

With a diplomatic background and proven record of negotiation at the global level, Babalola promises to bring not only hope but also high-level execution to governance.

His campaign slogan: “Ekiti to the World. South to the Front.” encapsulates his dual vision of elevating Ekiti on the international stage while restoring equity within the state.
