Former Pro chancellor, University of Nigeria Nsukka and APC governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Engineer Kayode Olubunmi Ojo has rejoiced with Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe, Aladesanmi III, on his 80th birthday and 35th anniversary of his ascension to the throne

While greeting the royal father, Engr Kayode Ojo noted that the reign of Oba Adejugbe as the paramount ruler of Ado- Ekiti kingdom has brought series of developments to his domain (Ado Ekiti) and to the larger Ekiti State.

Ojo said Oba Adejugbe is not just a mere occupier of the Office but an impactful leader whose activities in the past 35 years on the throne had proved to be a very versatile leader.

Going by the title of Ewi which simply means the Speaker, Engr Kayode Ojo described Ewi of Ado Ekiti as the Ewi indeed.

Engineer Ojo in his congratulatory message described Oba Adejugbe as a leader whose humility, wisdom, patience and sacrificial spirit has helped in no small measure in achieving the creation of Ekiti State out of the old Ondo State.

The staunch APC member recounted how Ewi had led the greatest agitation in the history of Ekiti people on Ekiti State creation struggle, where Oba Adejugbe chaired the Committee of Ekiti Monarchs & Eminient Persons frequenting the Office of the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha in Abuja in pursuit of Ekiti State creation.

According tp him, aside the glaring support of the ancestors, Ewi of Ado Ekiti has a blessing of God on his ongoing reign as king.

“With the quantum of achievements on ground, Oba Adejugbe had raised the bar in the history of Ado monarchical institution which future kings might find so much difficult to attain or beat”, Engr Ojo asserted.

The Ikoro-Ekiti born politician recalled how Oba Adejugbe eulogised his late father, High Chief Joshua Akanbi Ojo, the Eisaba of Ikoro-Ekiti when he visited him. That, the Royal Father personally said his late father, the Ikoro-Ekiti High Chief spent a week with him when he was ascending the throne as Ewi of Ado-Ekiti.

He added that the Kabiyesi remarked then that, if possible, his late father, High Chief Ojo ought to have been one of those who are not destined to die in life.

Engr Kayode Ojo therefore prayed for the Ewi to witness many more years in good health on the throne of his forebears; so that the people of Ado Ekiti and Ekiti State in general can continue to benefit more and more in the rich wisdom of the first class monarch.
