The Biodun Abayomi led administration in Ekiti State is poised to transform its public sector by upskilling and reskilling the workforce for global competitiveness and job creation.
The vision/agenda-setting session was held, inspired by the Governor’s desire for digital transformation within the civil service.
The engagement was a follow-up to the declaration at the State Exco retreat session for a step-down retreat and involved team members from the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Digital Economy, Bureau of ICT, Department of STEM, Office of Reforms and Innovation, and other associated Ministries.
The strategic focus of this session was to align our initiatives with the Governor’s digital transformation vision, with a strong emphasis on inter-departmental collaboration for effective execution.
One of the key objectives is to digitally transform our public sector, while upskilling and reskilling our workforce for global competitiveness and job creation.
In order to achieve these goals, we discussed the need to assess the current state, define a three-year target, identify the necessary resources and skills, and plan for the implementation of the Governor’s vision.
A significant expectation is on the Ministry to deliver on these mandates, and we are confident that this can be achieved by fostering a modern, innovative civil service culture.
Insights were also provided by the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Aderiye, MNI, and the Commissioner for Environment, Chief Tosin Aluko, on possible areas of systemic process improvement pertinent to their respective Ministries.
While acknowledging the daunting nature of the task ahead, we believe that through continuous retooling, shared vision, sufficient funding, and the unwavering support of the principal, @biodunaoyebanji, we can deliver a seamless, efficient, and innovative public service for Ekitikete. We affirm our belief that this transformative vision is indeed possible.
