No Room For Truancy- VC Warns EKSU  Part Time Students 

The Vice – Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti, Prof. Edward Olanipekun has urged fresh students admitted into the Part-Time programme to strive towards discipline and  academic excellence
Professor  Olanipekun  warned that the University  authorities would not condone  acts of indiscipline or  truancy ,as the universitt is not “meant for Lazy Students”.
Bode Olofinmuagun,Head, Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs.in a statement  said  the Vice chancellor encouraged the joyous students to be diligent, hardworking and to steer clear of any act(s) inimical to their success and future endeavours.
Represented  by the  Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof Babatola Ayodele, the VC dusclosed that some EKSU Alumni who passed through the Part – Time programme, currently occupy enviable positions in the society due to their diligence, quality of character and determination while studying as undergraduates in the University.
He therefore, advised the students that despite the fact that both  regular and part time programmes are being run differently, the graduates are issued the same certificates after the successful completion of the programmes. As such, stressed the need for them to give the programme the seriousness it deserves.
Earlier at the ceremony, the Registrar of the University, Mr Ife Oluwole, who was represented by the Director, Directorate of Council and General Administration, Mr Olusola Oso led the matriculants who were physically present and those who attended virtually in taking of the Matriculation Oath.
The event, held at the New Faculty of the Social Sciences Twin Hall, was well attended by the Principal Officers of the University, Deans of Faculties, Directors, among others.
