CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GRASSROOTS GOVERNOR- GOVERNOR BIODUN ABAYOMI OYEBANJI.. fitting award from the Independent Group of Newpapers
I join your family , friends and admirers to congratulate you on this recognition by the Independent Newspapers group.
I am particularly delighted that the efforts you are making to justify the mandate is being recognised from outside, but more importantly that your recognition is for what you are doing in the GRASSROOTS and FELT by the real people who live in the GRASSROOTS.
I hold this account to be true , as I have said in my post earlier this morning, if anyone is in doubt, they should go and ask Ara Ekiti in Ikole LGA , if you deserve or have earned this award or not, you promised to revisit a road that has such a tangible socio economic relevance that has been abandoned since 2007 in real terms, and you picked the gauntlet, and in Six months , you have done some good work there, and work still going on.
If any one is in doubt wether you have earned this award or not, they should go to Omuo, Ekiti East local government and ask the people there , how you restored power to communities that has been in darkness after almost two decades.
If anyone is in doubt , they should go to Ipole Iloro and environ and ask the people when they last had power, and in your one year , it’s a different story today.
I believe a lot more can be said, yes , I believe a lot more communities have felt the impact of your administration, and I believe a lot more will still be done.
The interesting thing is that Independent group only just confirmed what the people in Ara, Omuo, Ipole and others already know and have experienced and enjoying in tangible terms and need no validation from outside to acknowledge and commend your efforts.
To those who know you , as little as I do, you don’t crave klieg lights, you are not one who like to hug banner lines , and you just do your work in silence, how many times has anyone seen you on national TV ? Screaming what you are doing in Ekiti, but you will rather let Ekiti people in the GRASSROOTS affirm what you are doing and it’s interesting that the Independent group spotted you and this a befitting award, well earned.
I congratulate you Mr. Governor, and wish you will use this as a springboard to stay focused on your job as you have done and continue to do more because at the end of the day, it’s about the impact on the lives of the people who submitted their mandate to you, that is what you must justify.
