As football lovers await the last games in the first round of the round of the ongoing Adrican Cup of Nations (AFCON) ,Ghana and four other countries have been eliminated .
Nigeria ,Egypt ,Cameron and nine other countries have progressed to the round of 16.
Other countries who made it to the riund of 16 were : Cape Verde,
Senegal, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea, Angola, Burkina Faso,Mauritania
Mali and Morocco
Those who have been eliminated are Guinea-Bissau,Mozambique,Gambia
Algeria, Ghana
With just 24 teams competing at AFCON it is not just the top two from each group who reach the last 16.
As well as the 12 teams that will come from the group winners and group runners-up, there will be four more teams who finished in third.
Given that there six groups it will mean that two teams who finish third will miss out.
