The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, RS8.2 Ekiti State Command has issued a traffic advisory informing motorists and other road users of a diversion on the Kabba – Oye – Efon Alaaye Highway following a bad and damaged portion of the road around Oye Town
A statement by the Sector Commander, CC Sanya Adeoye, the Command said the damaged section has resulted in heavy traffic build-up and delays along the corridor.
To ease the situation and ensure safety, the FRSC advised motorists to take alternative routes pending urgent repairs by relevant authorities.
Advised Diversions:
1. *Vehicles travelling from Kabba through Oye – Ifaki Road are advised to use alternative routes.
2. Motorists coming from Abuja en route Ibadan/Lagos should pass through Okene to avoid the traffic hold-up occasioned by the bad portion on the Kabba – Oye – Efon Alaaye Road.
3. Other road users may also use Kabba – Ikare – Owo – Akure as an alternative route.
The Sector Commander urged all road users to cooperate with traffic personnel deployed at diversion points, obey traffic rules, drive with caution and exercise patience.
“Relevant authorities have been notified for urgent repairs,” the statement added.
