Bamisile Praises Ekiti Workers’ Solid Backing for Oyebanji

As labours are being celebrated on the occasion of “Workers’ Day” globally, a ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has saluted Ekiti civil servants’ steadfast support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

Bamisile, the Chairman, House Committee on Delegated Legislation, averred that the seamless relationship between the government and workers, was being reciprocated through improved welfare package and working conditions under Oyebanji’s leadership.

Bamisile gave the commendation in his congratulatory message issued through his Media Office in Abuja and made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti, on Thursday, on the occasion of the workers’ day.

In his glowing tributes to Ekiti workers, the federal parliamentarian maintained that the civil servants’ backing for Oyebanji has reflected in the progressive development being witnessed across the state’s economic spheres.

He said the workers had proven to be real engine room of development in the last two years to reciprocate the improved welfare package and scintillating governance being offered by the governor to Ekiti populace.

“I, Rt. Hon. Femi Bamisile, on this occasion of the Workers’ Day, appreciate Ekiti workers for their solidarity and support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji. This has brought to an end, the sordid and odious era of perennial industrial feud and dingdongs between the government and civil servants that often paralysed governance.

“The smooth and seamless relationship was a product and reciprocation of Governor Oyebanji’s worker friendly spirit. Under his leadership, workers have effectively gained control of governance. This was necessitated by prompt payment of salaries, pensions, gratuities and deductions to cooperatives.

“Most interesting and heartwarming was the fact that Governor Oyebanji was one of the few governors to implement the N70,000 Minimum Wage to Ekiti workers at a time when some were still skeptical. And the template remains one of the best in the country.

“As you are being celebrated today, I urge you to demonstrate more commitment and patriotism to duties, so that Ekiti of our dream can be achieved collectively under this government.

“I am indeed elated that the workers through their trade unions and organised labour, had endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for second term, which further lent credence to your wholesome acceptance of the current leadership”.
