14 governors and former governors of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP),including Rivers State Nyesome Wike have finally resolved to work for the victory of the party’s Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 poll.
The meeting which was at the instance of the governor Wike was attended by those who coordinated the Rivers failed presidential campaign.
Wike has been having a running battle with Atiku since the last Presidential primaries which the latter won. Efforts to resolve the matter and brokered peace have been unsuccessful until this latest move.
It however not clear whether Atiku had any input into the current leadership move by the hitherto aggrieved camp of the PDP.
Though the meeting behind closed doors at the Rivers State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),it was learnt that the major resolution was to bury their differences and work for the success of the party.
Those at the meeting include Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, and Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.
