A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC),Hon Yekeen POPOOLA has advocated peaceful co-existence and national unity, regardless of religious or ethnic differences as muslims all over the world celebrate Eidel Kabir festival.
Popoola, in his Sallah message felicitates with Muslims and also emphasized the importance of upholding the core values of Islam – faith, piety, and compassion – in daily life.
The former chairman,Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON); Oyo State equally called on Muslims to extend acts of kindness and charity to those less fortunate, particularly during this festive season.
The APC ch lauded the spirit of sacrifice and devotion embodied by the festival, urging Muslims to use the period for reflection, prayers, and renewed commitment to peace and unity.
Popoola who served as chairman of Irepo Local Government during the tenure of Senator Biola Ajimobi said
“Eid-el-Kabir is a time for spiritual rejuvenation and a renewed commitment to the teachings of Islam,” Popoola stated. “It is a season of reflection on the profound sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and a reminder of our own responsibility to demonstrate selfless service and unwavering faith.”
He urged Nigerians to use this festive period as an opportunity for peaceful co-existence and national unity, regardless of religious or ethnic differences. Popoola expressed hope that the celebration would foster stronger bonds within communities and contribute to a more harmonious nation.
He wished Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying for continued blessings and prosperity for all. His statement has been widely welcomed by Muslim communities across Nigeria and beyond.
