Ekiti Celebrates Foremost Monarch ,Oba Alabi’s  Birth Anniversary 

Prominent Nigerians ,particularly Ekiti sons and daughters have continued to celebrate one of their best,visionary  and goal- oriented monarch,the  Alawe of Ilawe, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi AFUNTADE 1 on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Oba Alabi raised the bar of the traditional institution in Nigeria when he served as chairman, Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers through his civilised  approach and robust contributions to issues of National interest.
The Southwest Publicity Secretary  of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP)  ,Chief Sanya Atofarati  in his birthday message hailed the monarch.
“Today marks his birthday .It is indeed a special day for our amiable king , a former Diplomat and the former Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers
“To the goal oriented Kabiesi, May our ancestors continue to lead you aright. ‘s His Royal Majesty, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti. Happy Birthday, Baba.” Atofarati  said
Also High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, who is Media Adviser to  Alawe  hinted the Oba Alabi’s birthday coincides  with the traditional “Odun jo” day
He explained that  ” Odun jo ”  is when the monarch annually  hosts  Chiefs  (the Ilerin) ninth community, marking the beginning of meetings in the year  for Ilerin chiefs. It is a full moon!
“When one looks back and critically examines  the life of the monarch and his activities particularly  since the time he ascended the throne of his forefathers it could  be seen that  there is a divine intervention in what ever he does coupled with  the heavy support of  his people and  friends.
“Things happen the way our Creator wants it.  For instance , today as he is adding a year to his age,the occasion   coincides  with the traditional “Odun jo” day when  the monarch annually  hosts  the Ilerin marking the beginning of meetings in the year  for Ilerin chiefs. It is a full moon!
” What a coincidence!  “Coincidences mean you are  on the right path ” says Simon VanBooy in his book titled:”Love Begins in Winter”. Thanks be to God for the life of our Oba.  Igba Odun,Odun kan ni ooooo ” Ajibade said .
