The Joint Action Committee of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti,otherwise known as JAC III has commended governor Biodun Oyebanji for finding a lasting solution to the power crisis in the state owned institution.
A statement jointly signed by SSANU Chairman, Comrade Temidayo Azeez Aguda, NASU Chairman, Comrade Olajutemi Sunday Kola and NAAT Chairman, Comrade Adeosun O. Mary the union leaders particularly thanked governor Oyebanji for linking EKSU with the new Independent Power Plant initiated by his administration ,
They explained that the kind gesture would go a long in enhancing research, teaching, learning and administrative activities.
The union leaders stressed tnat the importance of stable electricity in any tertiary institution cannot be quantified.
The JAC III leaders noted that the development had further attested to the fact that Governor Oyebanji has immeasurable passion for academic excellence.
They promised staff cooperation with government to ensuring proper maintenance of the facility and committed to services so as to justify the expenses of government in the institution.
The union leaders however appealed to the Governor to speed up the reinstatement of some members of staff who were sacked few years ago.
They noted that some of them have been taken back, few others who are left behind should be reinstated.
Similarly, the union leaders congratulated management of the school and the visitor to the university, Governor Oyebanji for the recent approval of ten new important courses by the National University Commission.
The JAC III comprises, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU)
