Ekiti Monarch Prays For Peace As Ilawe Celebrates Olokun Festival 

The Alawe of Ilawe  Ekiti , Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi has  admonished  his subjects to be peaceful as the community celebrates this year’s Olokun Festival .
Specifically , the monarch enjoined Ilawe people to be security conscious and report any untowardship to the security agents for quick action.
A release by the monarch’s Media Adviser Chief Ajibade Olubunmi said Alawe made the appeal in his palace today shortly after offering traditional prayers to God for peace and bountiful  blessings  for the entire Ilawe community to mark this year’s Olookun festival which symbolises the beginning of the traditional  new calendar year and heralding  all traditional festivals  in the ancient town.
The monarch equally  prayed for peace  in Ilawe, Ekiti State  and an end to insecurity in Nigeria.
The Alawe  urged the celebrants men and women including the youths ,the traditionalists  chiefs and the elderly to be peaceful during the celebrations.
As my people celebrate  the traditional new year today, I wish them happy and peaceful celebration,the Alawe concluded
