The leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) in Ekiti State has commended the Sector Commander, FRSC Ekiti Sector Command, Corps Commander Sanya Adeoye, for his inclusive and proactive approach to road safety management.
Speaking during the flag-off of the joint operation, the Sector Commander, FRSC Ekiti Sector Command, Corps Commander Sanya Adeoye, FCIPurS, MCILT, acknowledged the long-standing cordial working relationship between the Corps and the leadership of NURTW and RTEAN in Ekiti State.
He stated that the Command intends to leverage the partnership to ensure voluntary and total compliance with traffic rules and regulations.
According to him, while public enlightenment remains the key thrust of the Corps, enforcement will not be compromised.
He added that the joint exercise will continue intermittently till the end of the year to achieve maximum results and ensure a crash-free Ember Months period in Ekiti State.
In his remarks , the Chairman of NURTW in Ekiti State, Comrade Omotayo Falope (Oloforo), and his RTEAN counterpart, Comrade Sunday Adeoye, welcomed the initiative, describing it as timely, especially as the Ember Months set in.
They noted that the collaboration would further strengthen the long-standing cordial relationship between the Corps and transport unions in the State, while promoting voluntary compliance with traffic rules and regulations among drivers.
The union leaders assured the Sector Commander of the maximum cooperation and support of their members to ensure the success of the exercise and the achievement of a crash-free Ember Months in Ekiti State.
They also urged their members across all motor parks and garages in the State to cooperate fully with FRSC officials during the exercise and to always prioritize safety on the roads.
