EndBadGovernment :Muslim  Group Hails Members For Not Participating  In Violent Protest In Ekiti 

 

The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs , Ekiti State Chapter has commended the people of the State for not partaking in the violent protest organised by EndBadGivernment promoters.The Islamic body, in the communique made available to journalists at the end of its monthly meeting held at Iluomoba said “Islam prescribed prayer as a means of turning around an undesirable condition and not a violent protest that can lead to destruction of property and loss of lives .

The statement  signed by  its President  Alhaji Hameed Afolabi Bakare and the secretary,  Alhaji  Muraina Alabi Jegede commended its members, especially the youths, for their peaceful conduct , as they didn’t partake in the ongoing protest against bad governance, organized across the country.

It enjoined Nigerians to be more patient with the senator Tinubu – led Federal Government and be more prayerful in order to achieve the desired change in our land.

The Apex Islamic body in the state commended the populist programmes of the government of Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in Ekiti State which it said is responsible for the prevalent peace in the state and urged the Governor to continue in like manner to ensure a better living for the citizenry, in further fulfillment of the mantra of shared prosperity of his administration.

The council advised parents to continue to make the education and well being of their children and wards a priority, to enhance their future success and a peaceful coexistence in the society. It noted that education plays a vital role in the conduct and lifestyle of the youths and explained that a well educated child with proper religious background and fear of God, will not get involved in any untoward acts that  may jeopardize the peace and development of the society.

The body congratulated the President General, League of Imams and Alfas, South Western States , Edo and Delta  – Sheikh (Dr.) Jamiu Kewulere Bello on his 39th Turbaning Anniversary as the Chief Imam of Ado Ekiti . The Council noted that the Ado Ekiti Muslim Community , in particular , and Ekiti Muslim Community, in general, have witnessed tremendous progress and development under the able leadership of the great Islamic Cleric . It prayed for a healthy, long , and more prosperous reign of Imam Bello on the planet earth.

The body charged its members to always strive to excel, in their respective positions , disciplines , fields and vocations . According to the Council, it should be a constant reminder that they are role models for the younger ones and worthy Ambassadors of Islam.

It appreciated the Ekiti State Governor – Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for the appointment of its members into some political positions and asked for more . The Council assured the Governor that its appointed members will live above board , and justify the confidence reposed in them , by the special grace of Allah.

The Council applauded the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Gbonyin Local Government Chapter , the host Local Government – Hon. Fatai Sulaiman who is also a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, for being a good Ambassador of Islam .

It appreciated his selfless service , humility, sense of gratitude and appreciation . Similarly , Alhaja Akingbade – a former Amirah of the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) , Ekiti State , and a current Board member in Ekiti State was commended for being a good and worthy representative of Islam.

The Council thanked the Traditional Ruler of Iluomoba Ekiti – the Ajagun , and the Ajagun -in – council for their love and support for the Muslims in the community and prayed for the peace , security and progress of the town . It also thanked the Royal Father for sending his chiefs to deliver a goodwill message to the Council at its meeting held in the town and prayed for a long , and peaceful reign for the monarch .

The Council congratulated Alhaja Bilkis Sanni – one of its members who was recently elevated to the position of Executive Secretary in the Ekiti State Civil Service , and thanked the State Governor for the appointment.

The body wished Alhaja Sanni – the wife of the late former President of the Council a peaceful tenure of office. A delegation of the Council , led by the president – Alh. (Dr) Hameed Bakare, paid a congratulatory visit to the Executive Secretary at her residence in Ado Ekiti , after the meeting.

Special prayers were offered for the peace and progress of members, Ekiti State , Nigeria and the World.
